Open Question: Where can I buyGold/Silver coins?
Where is the cheapest and most reputable place that I can buy gold/silver coins?

I went to Goldline.com but they seem to ask for twice the market price for gold and silver (I understand they need to make a profit too). Is there anywhere else I can buy it for a little less thn twice the spot price?

Resolved Question: Is this jewelry store legit?
My boyfriend once worked at this jewelry store in a mall about 3 years ago. It was Whitehall Jewelers at the time, and reputable. But it went out of business. We came back to that mall and the very store he worked at. He remarked at how they were using the same glass cases, and even some of the inventory was exactly the same as he remembered. They posted a bold “75% off” banner above the entry way.

We looked at some of the things they had (some new, some the same as he had seen when he was there). Just for kicks, with no intention of buying, we asked about some of the items. There was a ‘diamond’ ring, 14ct white gold. We requested to see it out of the case. It was tagged at having 2tcw and the center stone was supposedly .72. It was a beautiful design, but the gold was scratched as if the ring was used, and the gold had a tarnished spot. I looked at the center stone through light, and inclusions were abound and easily seen. We asked about the quality and if she knew what it was.. and she stumbled painfully until she blurted out, IGA or IGH.. I still don’t know what she said. It’s “regular” price was $7,200, and it was supposedly marked down to an incredible $1,334. We presured the sales lady (who had a painfully difficult language barrier) about how much she could drop it down to, possibly $600? She said $999 was as low as she could go.

How big of a scam would you think this is? Is it common? Do they sound like they were really selling diamonds or fake jewelry?

Resolved Question: What is the Best Gold Buyer in The New York NJ CT Region?
This is going to be more like a question that i will answer my self in order to share my experience that i had. I had some gold to sell and a rolex gold watch. Looked at a few places like cash4gold and a couple of the local Gold buyers and it turns out that most of them are just trying to rip you off. Cash4gold for instance offered me 15% of the spot price!!!! Can you believe it, they are just horrible. The local Gold Buyers were a little better offering me 40-50%. Finally i came ran into a place on 47th Street in the diamond District called Manhattan Buyers. This is by far the best place you can go to, they tell it to you how it is. Gave me the best price, i shopped them a little but they even matched the other guys price and gave me 10% on top of that for my gold. You can visit them on their website www.ManhattanBuyers.com they are Truly the #1 Gold Buyer. No gimmicks, no tricks, no lies.
