I know that historically, earrings (on the lobe) for women were considered refined and classy, because a woman had to have money to have gems etc dangling off her ears. However, now, with all the synthetic cheap earrings, and piercings absolutely everywhere, are (gold, pearl, etc) earrings still regarded as a sign of class on women?
